About Me
Hello! My name is Samantha Riser, but I am mostly referred to as Sam by my classmates, friends and family. I was born and raised on the west side of Cincinnati with my younger sister by my two wonderful parents. Growing up I was always encouraged to do anything and everything I was interested in, which led me to fall in love with volleyball, soccer, piano, wake boarding, and later student government, art, and service. You name it, and I can bet that I have tried it at least once. My family and friends have been my rock and support system in all that I set out to do and accomplish. I owe it to them for the person I am maturing into, and I am proud to be following in their footsteps as a call myself a University of Cincinnati Bearcat.
As my fourth year moves behind me, I have finally found my place and am confident in my studies as an Accounting and Business Analytics student in the Lindner College of Business. I have found great satisfaction investing my time in a plethora of different activities, organizations, and service opportunities while at UC, all of which have taught me valuable lessons, helping me grow and develop as a young professional. Some of these extracurricular activities consist of, but are not limited to, Greek life, Student Alumni Council, Lindner Student Association (college tribunal) and Bearcat Buddies. I am excited to begin my journey as a Teacher's Assistant in the Accounting Department as well as serve as an Academic Coach in the Learning Assistance Center in the fall, to explore the possibility of teaching later in my career.. Through the Lindner Honors-PLUS Program and the University Honors Program, I will continue to immerse myself in the life of the University of Cincinnati and my community for my final collegiate year and beyond, giving my time and talents to make the city an even better place to live and grow.
